A special thanks for stopping at the School Yard Reveal during the PWS Art Show. What a lovely night. Art, music…poetry! Three fourth grade students shared their inspiring poetry. Thanks Claire, Lilly and Erin! You can read it yourself below.
Spring is Magic
By Erin Eldridge
Flowers are blooming,
Trees are taller and greener too.
Animals are assuming that winter is through.
The days are brighter, they are longer as well.
Instead of getting whiter, the lawn looks swell.
Allergy season is rolling in,
Spring is working its magic.
On my face is always a grin,
For spring is never tragic.
But in the end,
I would not trade spring, for a diamond ring or anything.
Playground
By Claire Pellegrini
Kids run around me like a stampeding herd of buffalo
Teachers’ whistles blow harshly over the ground
Balls bounce treacherously near faces
Some friends talk among themselves while others chase
Bugs crawl through the leaves as beautiful flowers sway
I am another word for fun!
I am the playground.
Recess
By Lilly Heald
Kickball, soccer, and even four square
Slides, swings, and fun everywhere
You can join the bug club
And find some neat treasures
You can play monster tag on the big toy
With pleasure
The obstacle course will test your skills
Do you have the guts?
Or will you tumble and spill
Yelling, whispering, and gossip too
The playground is the perfect place
For me and you.
